Prague welcomes EFIL network
In May, all eyes in the European AFS network were on Czech Republic, with a string of EFIL events taking place in the Vienna House Diplomat Hotel in Prague, hosted by our Czech AFS member organisation.
The main event in Budapest was EFIL’s Biennial General Assembly, gathering more than 70 participants, including the leadership of EFIL’s 28 member organisations. New members for the EFIL Board were elected. On Sunday, following right after the General Assembly, the EFIL Board met for its second in-person meeting of the year. For more about EFIL’s General Assembly, the Board elections and the Board meeting, see elsewhere in this edition of EFILife.
At the same venue, and partly overlapping with the GA sessions, EFIL’s EPOR Core Group was holding its annual meeting. EPOR stands for EFIL’s European Pool of Representatives, supporting EFIL’s Advocacy Coordinator. You can read more about this meeting elsewhere in this edition of EFILife.
Last but not least, the EFIL staff stayed on for an additional two-day staff retreat, enjoying the city of Prague while reflecting on the General Assembly, and working out the planning for the second half of the year.
It’s been a great week of events in Prague with AFS Czech Republic as our perfect host. Prague will be fondly remembered for a long time.
