In each edition of EFILife, we dedicate some space to partner news, including personnel changes as well as relevant events that have taken place over the past months.
From AFS Austria comes the news that two new staff members have been hired. Julia Sonnleitner replaced Cornelia Meier who left the office to pursue new professional challenges. Julia will be responsible for Sending Admission and Office Management. She holds a PhD in social anthropology and lived for one year in South Africa. She has voluntary experience with children, young adults as well as with refugees. She speaks English and Russian fluently. Julia can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org.
In order to build on a stronger volunteer structure the office has hired Sabine Reinprecht as an additional Organisational Development Coordinator working closely together with Georg Vladimirov. Sabine has a long lasting volunteer experience at CISV (Children’s International Summer Village) and worked for two months in Parajuru, Brazil in 2013. Sabine speaks English, Italian and some Portuguese. She can be reached at email@example.com.
AFS Switzerland has appointed Christine Leimgruber as Interim Sending Director. She will lead the Sending Team on a part time basis (40%) until the end of March, 2017. The position of Sending Director is new and comes along with a restructuring process at AFS Switzerland. Christine – the former Chief Program & Risk Management Officer at AFS International – continues working for AFS International (60%) until the end of March as Consultant in the field of programme development.
AFS Belgium French informed the network that Nicolas Charlot, National Director, has left the organisation. The Board is actively looking for a new National Director aiming at having a new staff member in place beginning of 2017. Magali Nerincx, Support Coordinator, will temporarily ensure the daily coordination of all office activities.
